From the Aula Magna of the Cavallerizza Reale of the University of Turin, with multiple connections to the member universities and associated entities and in front of almost one hundred and a half virtual assistants, the inaugural meeting of the UNITA - Universitas Montium Alliance took place on November 6th. This is the European Universities project of which the University of Zaragoza is part, together with the Universities of Turin, Vest din Timisoara, Pau et des Pays de l'Adour, Savoie Montblanc and Beira Interior. During the event, the different actions planned for the first year of the project were illustrated. On behalf of the University of Zaragoza, its acting Rector and Vice-Rector for Internationalization, José Antonio Mayoral and Francisco Beltrán, respectively, took the floor at different times, as well as Prof. Sergio Salinas, who coordinates the set of actions on European citizenship within the Alliance. The Aragon General Director for Higher Education, Ramón Guirado, also spoke, highlighting the benefits that the project can bring to our region, especially from the environmental point of view and the international mobility of students in rural areas.
