From 3 to 5 June, ACPUA participated in a meeting of ECA, the European Consortium for the Accreditation of Higher Education, which took place in Malta.
In the first part of the meeting, which took place on 3 June, and after the welcome by the head of the Maltese Agency and the President of ECA, we attended two relevant conferences related to artificial intelligence in higher education quality assurance agencies.
This was followed by working groups on certification, innovation, projects and training. In addition, in the General Assembly, different aspects were discussed and approved: the agenda, the annual report for 2023, the budget proposal for 2024 and the proposal of member fees for 2025, the definition of upcoming activities and plans, the extension of the coordinator's contract, the new members of the organisation, the resignations and the members of the Financial Committee and the Organising Committee.
The training focused on the theme “European higher education for entry-level quality assurance professionals”. We worked on the beginnings of the European Higher Education Area, as well as on the different aspects on which the European Commission and the Quality Assurance Agencies are working, such as the Alliances between universities, the European degree, assessing the differences and similarities between countries.
