At the invitation of ENQA, the European Association of Quality Assurance Agencies for Higher Education, our Agency will present its evaluation program ALCAEUS/Agenda 2030 in the framework of the 3rd ENQA SEMINAR FOR RECENTLY REVIEWED AGENCIES, to be held in the German city of Cologne on May 30th and 31st. Specifically, the ACPUA's presentation, which will be given by its director, Antonio Serrano, is entitled: "Expectations from external QA in addressing today's challenges in HE - an example of addressing Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs)".
This invitation is a sign of the great interest that this pioneering ACPUA program, which measures the degree of commitment of faculties, schools and university centers to the SDGs, is arousing within and beyond our borders. Already last year, the international panel that successfully evaluated the ACPUA formally congratulated our Agency for this program, also noting the following:
"The ALCAEUS Programme, which aims to raise the visibility of HEIs or centers that carry forward the SDGs, should be widely promoted in Spain and beyond. This is a pioneering scheme designed to enhance the social dimension of higher education, and a flagship example of how the agency responds to the interests and needs of its stakeholders".
The ACPUA has already certified two institutionally accredited centers of the University of Zaragoza: The Polytechnic School (Huesca campus) and the School of Engineering and Architecture. Both have reached the silver level ("strong commitment with the Agenda 2030").
